  • AATI meeting for establishment ASEAN MTI at Bangkok, Thailand

        From 26th to 28th Oct, 2016 at Bangkok, CEO of ExperTrans Global Dinh Khac Tuan participated in AATI (Association of Asian Translation Industry) meeting in forming ASEAN MTI (ASEAN Center for Multilingualism, Translation and Interpretation). ASEAN MTI is a Center initiated by AATI which is composed of 11 member countries/ states (Cambodia, China, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Nepal, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam) and 6 associate countries (Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Switzerland, UK, USA). Though languages and their technology, ASEAN MTI supports the ASEAN’s three pillars development (political stability, economic growth and socio-cultural evolution for the community peace and well being. The Center being in the progress of Thai Government’s approval will provide unsurpassed quality translation and interpretation guidelines to meet ASEAN and global community needs on an international platform. The 2016 ASEAN Summit on 26-28 Oct was a gathering of representatives of country members to discuss on Multilateral basis ASEAN MTI establishment, ABP (ASEAN Best Practices) guidelines and future activity roadmap.

    Objectives:

    1. To set an establishment proposal for the Center
    2. To prepare a guideline of ABP for Multilingual Translation and Interpretation
    3. To propose a future- activity roadmap

    1. AATI- ASEAN MIT members/ repretatives
    2. Thailand authorities and private sectors for Roundtable Discussion

    Results:

    1. A proposal for Center establishment
    2. A document of written guidelines of ABP MTI
    3. A roadmap for future activity
