30th September is known as International Translation Day. It is celebrated on the feast of St. Jerome, the Bible translator who is considered the patron saint of translators. International Translation Day was promoted by FIT (the International Federation of Translators) in order to show solidarity of the worldwide translation community to promote the translation profession in different countries.
The translation industry becomes increasingly essential. The size of the overall global language industry in 2016 is estimated at $40 Billion (USD), with estimates of up to $45 Billion by 2020. (Source: Common Sense Advisory, "Top 100 Language Service Providers: 2016)
The world of translator and the world of interpreter are two professions dedicated to one goal: facilitating communication between people. As the world becomes more integrated, fostering understanding between the multitude of speakers is more critical than ever.
On behalf of ExperTrans Global, we would like to extend our heartiest congratulations to all the translators and interpreters who help to open up the whole world to all of us.
ExperTrans Global is looking forward to seeing and hearing a great deal more about your achievements in the future. Keep up the good work!
